We encourage children to feel confident in nature and believe that experiences in the natural world support wellbeing and environmental stewardship. Through play based activities and positive leadership, we hope our Wild Kind ethos will develop happy, empathetic and confident children through our Family Adventure Stay and Play.

*Craft activities using natural materials

*Sensory activities such as potion making, clay, playdough or water play

*Role play

*Nature guides and spotter sheets to complete together.

What you need to bring with you and things to know

*As our venue is a working farm and we will be out in nature we ask that everyone wears trousers and sturdy shoes - no open toed sandals or crocs please.

*Please be aware as this is a working farm there is farm equipment around, and these items are not for the children to play on, supervision of children is required at all times during your session with us.

* Nettles and brambles are present, and insects such as ticks are possible, therefore long trousers and long sleeved tops are advised.

*Weather dependent clothing - suncream and a hat / light rain mac just in case.

*A change of clothes in case we get messy!

*A drink for everyone (and additional snacks if you might need them)

*We will be walking for around twenty to thirty minutes during our sessions with lots of stops to observe nature.

*At the present time the farm is not wheelchair accessible unless in an all-terrain wheelchair.

*The farm track and surfaces are not suitable for buggies as it's quite bumpy in patches.

This summer our family sessions are on a higher welfare working farm. Whilst there will be lots of opportunities to see the animals as we explore together, we won’t be getting up close and personal with them, this is their home and safe place, and we are just visiting and looking at them from a distance.

POOR WEATHER POLICY -

Our family sessions will still take place, however we will run some of our activities in a barn and access other areas where possible.

Accommodations and Additional Needs

We want every child to feel safe and at home with us and therefore strive to make our sessions as accessible and enjoyable for everyone as we can. Our team have extensive experience in designing and delivering sessions suitable for those with a wide range of additional support needs; Physical health, SEND and SEMH. Small groups mean a calmer, lower-pressure environment, which often suits children who are neurodivergent, socially anxious, or who find bigger settings too much.

If you have any additonal needs or requirements, please contact us by email or use the additional information box when booking and we can discuss how we can best support your child.

Tell us about your child, what they love, how they engage best, and what helps them thrive and we’ll work with you to make our Family Adventure sessions a positive experience for all.

In Addition

We can send over social stories and some of our staff are Makaton Level 2 trained.  Please let us know if these would be helpful additions to accessibility for your child.

Please note unfortunately our site isn't wheelchair accessible at present due to uneven terrain
